Bert Dodson Jr.

Lynchburg District (Term expires June 30, 2023)

Bert Dodson Jr. is the president and chief executive officer of Dodson Pest Control, which operates 38 offices in six states and is one of the largest family-owned pest control companies in the United States.

Dodson grew up in Lynchburg, attended Virginia Tech, graduated from the University of Richmond School of Business and received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the Virginia University of Lynchburg.

Dodson served three terms and a Lynchburg city council member, from 1998 to 2010, with six years as Vice Mayor.

Dodson was a member of the Lynchburg Regional Airport Commission from 2010 to 2018.

He was a member of the Virginia High School League Foundation board from 2008 to 2018, with three years as president.

He was a member of the Board of Trustees of Virginia University of Lynchburg from 2001 to 2010, was a member of Virginia Free Board of Directors from 2011 to 2016, and is currently a member.

Dodson was a member of the 2005 Commonwealth of Virginia Commission on Transportation in Urbanized Areas.
